Tips, Tricks, How-to's, and News for QuantumCMS Users

In the last week we have updated nearly all of our clients with the QuantumCMS Hosted License (which are hosted in our data center) with the latest hotfix for QuantumCMS. These updates will have no impact on how your web site displays or how you use the QuantumCMS authoring tool, they are focused on performance enhancements.

The first part of the hotfix relates to a third-party component we use to secure the QuantumCMS codebase. In some circumstances QuantumCMS could behave erratically and cause the web site to fail to load properly. While this affected very few sites and only in specific cases, we were able to obtain an update from the developer of the third-party component and have integrated that into QuantumCMS. Since that update we have not seen the issue occur again.

The second part of the hotfix addresses a potential problem with access to database records within QuantumCMS conflicting when the automated publishing features of QuantumCMS are used. In less technical terms, a page could try to both publish and unpublish itself at the same time. We have updated the logic that controls this feature to prevent that rare scenario from happening.

The following released of QuantumCMS are receiving the hotfix (the new release number is in parentheses):

  • 4.1 (will become 4.1.0.4)
  • 4.1.1 (will become 4.1.1.3)
  • 4.2 (will become 4.2.0.5)
