QuantumCMS 4.1 Sneak Peek: File Manager

We've listened to your feedback about the file manager and made some changes. Right off the bat, you should notice clearer icons in the file manager pane, making it more obvious what each function is. We haven't changed the overall layout in that pane because we have found that it works well for the bulk of our users.

What we have changed is how you access the information about a file, including how you see its preview, how you can rename it, download it, or delete it. In the current version of QuantumCMS the file information is displayed in a slide-away panel/frame below where you usually edit the page. We discovered that users didn't always see this panel open up, and when they did, it wasn't always clear to them what options were available.

With release 4.1, the individual file information is now displayed in a box that overlays the rest of the page. The options to rename, download and delete are now more obvious. Even the preview has been given more space. We still show the file properties and even have a spot set aside so you can see which user uploaded the file. The screen shot below gives an overview of the updates.
